A thank you, some info, and a request or two...

We would like to say thank you for shopping with us during our Holiday Open House. We would not be able to continue here without your support. We appreciate your continued patronage.

We would like to say a few things about coupons, offers, e-mails, and why we do things the way that we do. We would also like to make a request or two.

We are a small business. We are not owned by Hallmark. We offer specials to you, our customers, so that you can save a bit of money on your purchases. We know that in this world that has so many options for you to purchase items, that sometimes our price is not the lowest. So we thank you for choosing to shop with us. We accept Hallmark Gold Crown coupons because we are a Hallmark Gold Crown location. We cannot, however, accept Hallmark Gold Crown coupons on top of a promotion, coupon, or store discount. We must make a profit in order to stay in business. So many times a day we hear, “They are closing all of the Hallmark stores around us.” Unfortunately, there is no “they”. Most times it is small business owners who are struggling against the pressures of doing business in a world of online retailers and business giants. We at Palmyra Pharmacy & Gift Shop have one location. That’s it. One location to pay rent, heating, electric, water, taxes, employees, health insurance, liability insurance, cleaning supplies, maintenance, retail supplies, etc…It’s the cost of doing business as a brick and mortar store. It’s so much more than the cost of the item that you are purchasing. You are supporting the families of the folks who are waiting on you. You are supporting the families of the folks from whom we purchase items. You are, and we thank you for this, keeping us in business. That being said, we cannot offer a double discount. We have adopted our store coupon policy so that you can save and we can still be here to continue to serve you long into the future. We promise that we will try to get you the best deal that we can and keep our doors open for many years to come. Please do not get angry with our employees because they will not honor a coupon or a discount that is in opposition to our coupon policy.

We also are trying to navigate a difficult time with economic pressures that are completely out of our control. Higher prices at the retail store for you are higher prices for us at our wholesale suppliers. We must pay for everything that we order before it gets to us. The wholesalers do not take it back if we don’t sell it. Ordering has become a very difficult balancing act. Are we going to sell this item? How many of this item are we going to sell? Will we sell it before the end of the season or will we sell it at clearance after the season? There are empty spots this year on our Hallmark Ornament display. We apologize to you who come in looking to purchase a specific item. This year’s ordering pressures and increased prices have been a difficult situation to navigate. Hopefully these things will settle down and we can get a better handle on ordering for next year. Just know that a lot of time, thought, and hand wringing has gone into the ordering. For this season, please extend to us some grace, knowing that this season is not a typical season. Please do not get angry with our employees because something that you want is not in stock.

E-mails and social media continue to be our best way to advertise without costing us an arm and a leg. If for some reason your e-mails are not getting to you from Palmyra Pharmacy & Gift Shop, please check that we have the correct e-mail on file. If your e-mail is correct and you are still not getting e-mails, please check your SPAM or junk, please check your blocked sender list, and then please check with your e-mail provider. If our e-mail platform says that they are sent, then it becomes your responsibility to figure out where they are going if they are not getting to you. We are not a huge corporation that has a separate IT department. We contract e-mails to be sent through a third-party provider. We cannot answer why they are not getting to you. In most instances, we can try to provide a work around. Please come and talk to us. Please do not get angry with our employees because you are not getting e-mails. In this world of digital craziness, we have no better answers than you do.

We do not have access to your Hallmark Coupons. We do not have access to your e-mail. We do not have access to your special offers. We can only process coupons and offers that you have in your possession. We will never have a Hallmark register system on which we will be able to see your coupons. We are a pharmacy that must have pharmacy software and that software is not compatible with Hallmark. So please have any offers that you would like to try and redeem in your possession when you come in the store. If you do not get a coupon or an offer that you believe you should have, please do not get angry with our employees.

We’ve had instances lately where customers are taking out their anger on employees. Please, we know you’re frustrated sometimes with the above policies and/or issues, but we are trying our hardest to do our best for you. But anger directed at an employee is not the answer to solving anything. If there is an issue, please ask to speak to management and we will try to resolve it together. In this season especially, good will should be given to everyone.

We are so thankful for you. We are so grateful for you. We hope to serve you long into the future. We hope that we have provided you great customer service. We hope that we have gone the extra mile to get you products that make you, your family, and friends smile. Please feel free to reach out to us about any issues, questions, or concerns.
